Music
A short distance out of Annagry is Leo’s Tavern, the home of the haunting music of both Clannad and Enya. The pub both serves good food and also has regular Irish music sessions. There is a strong culture of traditional Irish music in many of the pubs, with singing, fiddlers, accordians and dance evenings. At some bars you may be invited to contribute your own musical talents!
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, Donegal is a rambler's paradise with a variety of walks through a wild and rugged landscape. For the very enegetic there is Mount Errigal, providing a range of strenuous but breathtaking walks up to its impressive peak 749 metres above sea level.
Golf
The Cruit Island Golf Course is only a short fifteen minute drive away. Set on the edge of the wild and rugged Atlantic ocean, it enjoys unrestricted panoramic views to take your breath away. A true natural 9 hole links course, golf at its best, par 68, where every shot must be methodically thought out.
Horse Riding
Horse Riding can be enjoyed at Bundoran with the wonderful and natural experience of racing along the open sands.
Water Sports
The numerous sandy bays and offshore islands protect the coast from the worst of the weather, making the area particularly interesting to kayakers as it is possible to explore many of the islands in relatively protected waters. Some beaches have great waves for body boarding and surfing and also sailing, snorkelling, fishing and scuba diving can be enjoyed in the area.
Shopping
A twenty minute drive brings you to Dungloe where there is a larger supermarket and shops than Annagary. Letterkenny is only around an hour away and has a cinema and large shops. Donegal Town has an interesting old area with quaint streets and attractive buildings and shops selling the famous Donegal Tweed.
Playing
The area is a childrens paradise. Two minutes walk from the house is the estuary beach where at low tide the sand is dotted with pools containing crabs, shrimp and little fish. A twenty minute walk (at low tide) takes you to the breathtaking Carrickfinn beach, a massive stretch of golden sands with turquoise water. Should the weather prove to be particularly unkind there is a cinema is in Letterkenny around an hours drive away.
